I am a bit in love with the town of Rye in Sussex, so when I was invited by a magazine to create a poster a la homage to the beautiful posters advertising seaside towns produced by British Railway Companies in the 30s, 40s and 50s Rye was always going to be my town of choice ! This is almost finished. I cut my papercuts out of the same paper and spray color it afterwards ....
i too love rye....and spent a lot of summer holidays with family down at the harbour. it is indeed a wonderful part of this isle.....lovely work as always

ReplyDeletebeautiful, I've never been to Rye, but the words could apply to our town of Holmfirth with our cobbled streets and little shops! beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteRye is beautiful. As is this piece!
ReplyDeleteWow what a gorgeous design. I can't imagine how long it must take you to cut out all the lettering!
ReplyDeleteLove the poster! Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.
ReplyDeletea perfect piece for the lovely town that is romantic rye. yet another heart warmer mister rob! :-)
ReplyDeleteNice work love paper cutting!
ReplyDeleteLike the poster a lot. Are they available to buy?
ReplyDeleteNext time you go to Rye you should head down the coast to Bexhill on Sea as well. It's full of old people but the De La Warr Pavilion is great!
